Giving the Basics provides the necessities of life, not covered by government assistance programs, that most people take for granted such as laundry soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper and other personal care hygiene products.

Each month, more than 260,000 people have access to essential hygiene items at no cost to them through our programs.

The products provided by Giving the Basics help children avoid being bullied and make it possible for job seekers to show up at interviews looking their best. They enable young women to participate in sports without having to miss practices or competitions. They increase school attendance and allow parents to keep their homes sanitary and their families healthy.

Through the distribution of these hygiene products, Giving the Basics helps to stabilize the community, giving individuals improved health, hope and dignity.
