All across America, there are retired military and law enforcement K9’s, which, like any animal, need proper medical attention to live happy, healthy lives.
Due to the demanding nature of their jobs, many of these dogs require additional care, especially as they get older.
When working dogs retire, usually around the age of 10, all of the dogs’ benefits cease. This means that any expenses incurred after a K9’s retirement, become the responsibility of the handler.
This financial burden puts the handler in a difficult position…
These military and law enforcement working dogs, and their human partners, DESERVE BETTER, in return for their service to our country!
Meet K9 Rex…
After just DAYS into retirement, Rex was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of mouth cancer. If he didn’t have surgery, he would only have an estimated six months to live. His family wanted to give him a chance at life, and so did we.
We are happy to report that Rex is enjoying retirement, at home, with his family!
Paws of Honor paid for K9 Rex’s surgery and will continue to pay for his future medical bills. We are committed to providing veterinary care and products at NO CHARGE for retired military and law enforcement K9’s nationwide.
Did you know you can pledge support to the Combined Federal Campaign and raise money for nonprofits, just like Paws of Honor?
By making a contribution today, you could help save the life of a retired K9 that once served our communities and country.
Thank you for your support and patronage!
