A place for everyone

Arts for Lawrence connects arts and community to inspire everyone every day. Our vision is of a vibrant arts destination here at the decommissioned Fort Benjamin Harrison. In collaboration with the City of Lawrence, we have built the Fort Ben Cultural Campus, the ultimate experience of placemaking through the arts. We want to tell a story of Fort Harrison’s history, so we have incorporated elements that celebrate the Fort when it was an active military base. The Fort Ben Cultural Campus is truly unique. We’ve brought interactive, tech-heavy arts experiences and we offer lots programs in visual arts, performing arts and literary arts, many of which are free to the community. Whether it’s seat in the theater, a spot on the stage, artwork in our gallery, or you just want to come enjoy the Musical Swings, the Fort Ben Cultural campus has a place for everyone.
