A. (VOICEOVER HANNAH) “The word "victim" feels really heavy to me, like it gets draped around you, and you're kind of at the mercy of whatever that word means to whoever you need something from: B. immediate help, an open ear, someone to believe you.
C. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about being a "survivor" versus a "victim”.
D. Even though it's true that I am and have been both, there's a bit more choice in continuously and intentionally surviving.
E. That's what means most to me about being part of CCASA's Survivor Task Force: the ability to be an intentional survivor. F. (VOICEOVER HANNAH) The Task Force provides a great opportunity for survivor's voices to be recognized as part of the process of doing the actual work to end sexual violence.
G. CCASA’s work empowers survivors to become community leaders.
H. I have helped fundraise for the Coalition to support other survivors and I definitely encourage you to get involved and support how you can, whether through donations or raising awareness to end sexual violence in your community.
